I think it looks better than the normal Civic hatch because those ricetastic add-ons distracts your eyes from the ungainly proportions. It’s like adding lots of strong flavoring (salt, chili pepper, cumin, ginger, garlic, etc) to a normal dish to the point where you can’t taste anything else anymore.

This car makes my eyes bleed. As someone that grew up coveting the real CTRs, this car makes me want to spin kick out my bathroom mirror and jamb shards of glass straight into my ocular cavities.

I’m more partial to the ITR myself.
I’m glad they made a new CTR but I’m sad that it’s not something I want. And I’m someone who’s been conditioned to salivate over red H badges like Pavlov’s dog.

Id rock a 2000 ITR any day, to the point that if I had to spend 35,000 dollars on a new Type-R or the an “old” ITR I’d take the Teg any day. Because unlike that wannabe transformer, I’d be okay with being seen in this yellow 17 year old Honda. Proud even.
God that’s a pretty car.
You know that saying “if you don’t stop an look back at your car when you park it, you have the wrong car.” Well if I drove a new Civic Type R, I wouldn’t look back I’d hide my head in my hood and do my best to not lay eyes on it.

For the 50% premium over a base hatch, it has to be different. Also, there is functional intent. There appears to be more offset/track in the wheels, hence the wheel arch. Also the wing is functional.
Don’t forget, 90% of people who complain have never seen one. My experience is years from now, people will wonder what was all the drama about.

The Taco is ok but there are other good trucks on the market and the 86 can be acquired via Subaru (with the added bonus of WRX Blue) so Toyota is very avoidable.

My best friend thought heat was flavor. So his chili was always spiked with some stupid hot sauce instead of peppers or other spicy foods. It got to a point where swallowing pepper spray tasted better.
I see minimal aerodynamic benefits to the blocky flares and angles and faux venting. A wing may work, but the rest just bullshits the air into submission.
