Oppo, how long should I wait (from the car getting stolen) before I should seriously start looking for a new car

Insurance is waiting until Nov 10th to pay out. Although my guess is that if they don’t find the car within a few days, they probably won’t, at least not completely stripped.

I’ve got a rental car (paid for by insurance) till at least Nov 10. So I’m not in a huge hurry. I just wanna know at what point is it unlikely that it’ll be recovered intact.

Cops found mine within 12 hours. I suspect that if you go much past a day or two, the odds of its being recovered in a non-totaled condition are slim.

It’s an Integra. It’s been stripped down to the metal by now.

No desirable coupes for sale. Only Cobalts and Cavaliers.

If you’re buying that Pathfinder, stop waiting now.

If you’re buying the Buick, never stop waiting.

Joking aside, I wouldn’t bank on anything. At least you’re learning of the market in prep for “if it isn’t found”. You never know what you may find.

Unless it was used for drugs. Then they’ll just find it outta gas in the middle of no where. That’s happened to a few people. Although your probably right.

They’ve all been auto. I’m not sure the XFE ever got one.

Start looking right away. I had a truck stolen 10 years ago. It was found 18hrs later stripped badly enough that it went straight from the police lot to the junkyard.

If you still want a 90s Honda...

Looks like an SE, which means leather that rips when you look at it wrong, hence the front seat covers.

I gave up on my ‘95 buick regal due to electrical and sensor gremlins. Your mileage may vary, but I suggest caution if you want a reliable daily driver. The ride is sooo smooth though, and if its the 3.8L v6 it’s got endless power to go... I’m not sure I can help you with this decision - I like them all :)

Check the frame of that Pathfinder carefully, from what I understand the bodies can often still look really good while the rear frame is crumbling away

The LeSabre is a good choice but the 94 only has the series 1 3800, might be good or bad depending on whether or not you care about the extra 15 hp or so, I’d recommend a regal gs (so 98-03) because that’s probably one of the better w body’s, or a newer LeSabre (00-05) I have an 05 with no complains on alot of miles, only issues you may have is that the rear shocks are air so while they are cheap parts, they aren’t the most reliable. A 94 is also a pretty bad look, especially since cars in wbody and Gbody (streched w) go for cheap all day

If that Mazda6 is a 2.3, it’s a good buy. If it’s a 3.0, run far, far away.

What’s wrong with the 3.0? I though the Duratecs were pretty solid.

I’ve got a rental till Nov 10. But I wouldn’t mind something like this. Get some steelies from a junkyard and new tires and it’d be good to go. Spend the rest of the insurance payout on a GPS, car alarm, and maybe a revolver.

if somebody really wants your car, they are going to FIND a way to get it......... if they have them at your apartment, get a garage. guns just usually escalate things needlessly, but i’d rather have one than not. get your ccp. keep it on YOU, not in your car, or the house, where it can get taken and used against you.......

getting things stolen makes you paranoid. sometimes for a good reason, most of the time not.

i hope you can find another fun simple car you can enjoy....... until yours turns back up.....
