While I almost bought an AMG during the twilight of my career in oil , we find what I would be buying if I had chosen to go back. That’s right, it’s an E90 335d , in my favorite color combo, alpine white with tan leather, with a sport pack and idrive. Assuming I would be back in oil if I was in the market for one, it would be getting an LSD and then a tune. I’ve wanted to get one of these and turn the knob to 11. Whereas the M3 would be my high revving scalpel, this would be my sledgehammer torque monster. I can only dream though, unless my job does something that really irks me tomorrow, I won’t be going back to oil anytime soon.

These always interested me as well. I thought this engine was really problematic though?

The engine does have potentially really expensive problems, which is why I don’t own one now. However, if I was back in oil the occasional $4k repair bill would be less of an issue. I say this because when my M3 broke an I incurred a $4k repair bill it was more of an annoyance than anything else.

That’s fair enough. I mean, it’s not like my M3 has been cheap either. However, despite the negative finical cost, it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

To close the chapter on our chat we’ve had about our neighborhood, the MOU with Extraction and the City passed last night and the spacing hearings with the COGCC are on Monday. We’ll have 133 wells, 84 in our county and 49 superficially out of our county, but just across the county border. All of em in about a 2.5 mile stretch. I’m not surprised, but I’m not terribly thrilled with the scale of the project, either.

It does, but you had to get the M-Sport pack to get that color. Making it harder to find.

Wouldn’t this be more expensive to maintain than your M3?
I’ve heard 2 things about these cars. They’re amazing to drive because they have all the torque, and they’re maintenance nightmares.

The downtime would annoy me more than the maintenance costs, personally.
