That actually works as a convertible. I’d actually kind of like to see it as a hardtop coupe too.

If the cost to purchase the Mercury was based on the cars prototype build expense it would be valued well over $400k.

Do you think that’s 1988 or 2017 money?

Also interesting... It was listed on ebay a few years ago.

Photos in that listing have 3" TVs in the front seat backs.

15 grand isn’t still a lot of money for a Sable. Even a 1 of 1 convertible Sable. It’s no the like it’s really going to be all that enjoyable to drive,p. The only real appeal it has is that you’ll have something unique to take to car shows.

Also I find it suspicious that the seller didn’t share any pictures of the top up. You can only assume the power too either doesn’t work, or is non existent.

Honesty I hope a stance kid buys it and slams it that would be awesome.

Everything insee one I think “I’d drive one of those” and then I remember that Miatas exist.

You didn’t miss anything. My dad owned a 91 non-turbo from 94-96. While it wasn’t an objectively bad car, the real problem was that even the earliest miata was an order of magnitude better in every way. I’m also pretty sure our boat accelerates to 50mph quicker than it did.
