Neat. All those pictures bring back memories of the (non Shelby, but still turbo) Lancer we had when I was a little kid. I remember some of the interior details like the dash, shifter boot, door panels, and the cover for the hatch.
It served as the family car, primarily driven by mom during the week. My dad always described it as a fairly sporty car for it’s time, however, we ended up getting Chrysler’d on it in the end. They bought it new in 86, and in the late summer of 1990 (at less than a year and 10,000 miles after the warranty ran out it ) it blew a coolant hose to the turbo and overheated on the highway. This in turn killed the head gasket, and all while we were up visiting family and friends in rural western Nebraska. The Chrysler dealer in the area was able to order the hose and patch it up enough for us to limp back to ABQ within the timeframe of our trip. Once back, it was promptly traded in a for a new Mazda MPV to serve as the family truckster.

This is what I love about cars. I didn’t even know this existed, learn something new everyday. It’s kind if cool actually. The interior is so much better than I imagined.
