You know you have gotten old when the new fridge excites you. My old fridge was 35 years old.
It has cool digital controls that vanish when not in use. Yes, Oppo, that drawer has independent temperature control to chill meat, cheese, or “soft drinks.” Freezer makes BOTH standard AND cocktail ice. I don’t know what the fuck cocktail ice even is.
Check out that water dispenser. So cool. The fridge is quiet and awesome. I love it.
I am officially middle aged dad. I had a good day- fridge delivery and 5MGE cylinder head delivery.
Tomorrow, I do a seminar on workplace fatalities at an industrial safety conference. Then 450 mile drive to Humboldt to meet with some dairy farmers.

I’m personally not the biggest fan of refridgerator/freezer combos when the freezer is on the bottom, but man that display is cool

Getting 35 years of service out of an appliance is nothing to sneeze at, you certainly got your money’s worth. My parents had a fridge last 30 years and three houses, the replacement didn’t make it to 10.

Cocktail ice is more clear (water is more purified, so water flavor don’t affect the drink) then regular ice. Theres also different kinds of cocktail ice, mixing ice, & rock ice: Mixing ice for mixed drinks shaken or stirred. Rock ice is a large cube used for straight drinks, it melts more slowly so it won’t dilute the drink as fast. There is also cracked ice, it’s as it named. It cools the drink faster, but dilutes the drink faster. There is way more cocktail ices, but thats going down a rabbit hole.

We’re fans of the freezer on the bottom, too. Great purchase. I’d like one with a filtered water dispenser, but the one we have works far too well to justify replacement.

What brand? I love those light strips and stainless steel.
Mines a 1999 Frigidaire side by side. Still running strong. Overload relay broke a year ago and only cost $4.00 to fix :D
