Kinja'd!!!

The Chevelle’s ready for next year as is, but that Camaro... hoo boy.

Brakes still aren’t fixed. Shop’s been super busy. About ready to say screw it and just go to discs up front. I’ve about had it with these drums needing attention every year. Plus, 454 and Drums don’t really mix well.

Also, the thing has a bad, and I mean BAD, knock. It’s had it for a while, but it’s getting more and more pronounced. Probably a dead lobe on the cam/junk lifter, because I didn’t know it was a flat tappet until two years ago.

It sucks, because that’s money that I don’t have, don’t know if my grandfather has, and even if he does, I can’t possibly ask him to spend it. So who the hell knows what’s going to happen. We brought it back to our house for the Winter so the Grand National can go in Pap’s garage.

Wha? How many more do I need?

I mean You’re missing an Old’s and a Pontiac. I don’t even have words for your lack of Cadillac.. :P

I will say the GN does kind of make the lack of an Old’s almost allowable.

Well, we don’t have the space lol. I’d love the ‘73 Firebird my Dad used to have, and a ‘68 Cutlass.

Caddys have never done anything for me. I like Lincolns more.

I didn’t say Caddys were bad vehicles. Just that I prefer Lincolns.

Why do I think that itschrome reads that as, “I didn’t say that your cooking is bad, just that I prefer dirt sandwiches to what you make.”

Are you calling Lincolns dirt sandwiches?

*I* am not. I am speculating that itschrome may feel that they are by comparison with Cadillacs.

Yes, no worries. If I did not think much of Lincolns, it would have made for the beginning of a fun internet argument, I’m sure.

Although I can’t say that I have ever said, “Hey, cool Lincoln” with the exception of the mid ‘60s Continental sedan with the suicide doors, especially when tastefully low.

It’s ruined, and because I’m a friend, and I can see it’s causing you stress, I’m willing to take it off your hands.

Thanks for the offer, but I’ll pass. If I have to shove it on the back burner for a while ‘til I can afford to yank the motor, so be it.

Don’t blame you. And if I never got around to it, I’d have them bury me in it.

Bummer, personally I’d probably upgrade to discs if your going to drive it. Other than resale value and conversion costs it will brake better and be safer.

I think that’s what I’m going to do. I’ll just go to the factory style discs, since I really don’t need big ass Wilwoods. Originality doesn’t matter, since it was (supposedly) a 396/4 speed originally and now it’s a 454/TH400.

How much is a factory setup, or are you just looking to stay looking somewhat original? My Wilwood setup was under $500 when ordered with a coupon code from Summit. I guess add about $50 for a new proportioning valve and hard line to fabricate a couple of small lines.

Otherwise, that’s a pretty cool looking garage with those 2 cars parked in there.

Somewhat original. The whole car’s a love letter to how they were set up back in the day, so big flashy Wilwoods are a no go.

Sounds perfect too me, if there’s one thing I don’t want to question it’s brakes and steering.
