Kinja'd!!!

He may only have a Ford Aspire with a utility trailer but this dude was going for it harder than any other car we saw during the Lamborghini photoshoot I did this past weekend. My hat is off to you, glorious shitbox owner.

The shittier the car, the easier it is to love! See thats my problem with cheap new cars now, they arent shitty! Sure they are boring and have fewer features than “better” cars out there but they also are reliable, built well, get high gas mileage, and have AC and basic stuff no matter what. But the problem is I love old cheap cars because they totally suck ass! Roll down windows, AC that maybe worked 20 years ago, dogshit slow, and made out of the worst parts and materials. But still better than a fucking Nissan Versa!

Its all about character and soul. Why cant new cars have that? Oh right because nobody would buy it because people suck!

Better than the press photos taken in 1997.

Wow... way back in 1995, we bought a new Caymen Green Aspire (my joke was that they called it “Caymen Green” because it was the only green it came-in). I immediately put a hitch on it for my little Harbor Freight flatbed trailer, since I didn’t have a pickup at that time. I don’t think I have a pic of the Aspire pulling a trailer, but I do have a picture of my ‘93 Festiva with a trailer behind it... if I can find it in the box of old pictures, I’ll have to scan it in the computer.

A tip-of-the-hat to the owner of this little white Aspire...

Kinja'd!!!

1993 Festiva pulling a trailer with a train on it “back in the day”. I don’t have a pic of our Aspire with a trailer. Close as I can get for the SR20 rule...

Festivas and Aspires are sorely underrated. Buddy of mine loves building them. It’s hilarious because he’s a 300lb gorilla of a dude that competes in national powerlifting competitions and he somehow folds himself into the illogically spacious baby Ford.

I agree, they are neat little cars... they seem to have a reliable powertrain, and I really liked the two Festivas and the Aspire that we had. I took the backseat out of my blue Festiva, and used it like a little van. Even hauled my mountain bike inside of it on a regular basis (with the front wheel removed, it fit quite well). One of my co-workers has a couple that he drives to work on a regular basis, still running good after all these years and all those miles!
