I’m a junior in college, so yeah. I didn’t discover Brand New until 2007/2008ish and didn’t really get into them until maybe 2010. I feel like YFW and Deja were great in their time, but I don’t think they’ve aged as well as The Devil and God or Daisy (especially YFW). They’re still great album, but they gotten better at writing songs since and I think that shows.

Ahhhh alright. I got into YFW just before Deja came out, when OG emo pop punk was the thing... NFG, The Get Up Kids, Starting Line, etc. Deja blew EVERYONE away. It was an unbelievable album. Nothing like that existed.
You are right they have gotten better at shows, bc around 2010 Jesse was fucking terrible live. Dude was drinking, just screaming every lyric for no reason, not singing half of the words, etc. I saw them last year at MSG and they were they played the second best show I’ve seen them do. First best was at SUNY Oneonta in 2007 right after Devil and God came out, it was the first time I saw them live. The next time I did was in 2009, they headlined after a HUGE list of openers.. Robbers, Crime in Stereo (meh), Manchester Orchestra, Thrice, and Glassjaw. It was a GREAT show buy Brand New was a let down, and the start of when they got shitty. I saw them a couple years ago with Modest Mouse and they were a lot better, but Modest Mouse was WAY better than them.
