Could be worse, this is the timeline in which Caitlyn Jenner and Kid Rock are both going to run for Congress.

I’m not worried about Jenner, everyone hates her and she’s trying to run as a Republican in California with hard right stances on basically everything (even on trans people *head desk*).

But Kid Rock though, gosh I can actually see that happening. This truly is the darkest timeline.

It would be interesting, but I can’t see it happening, at least not in 2020. Too many democrats would still be upset about the Hillary emails thing for him to stand a chance. And I don’t see him running on the R ticket while there’s an incumbent

My universe is constructed in large part around a core of truth. People tell each other the truth. When they don’t, it messes with me. To lie, one has to make a conscious choice and I am left shaking my head. Why be so stupid? Who would choose to be stupid?

It’s not that truth has lost power, but that stubbornness has become a fearsome adversary.

I used to be more like that.

But several life experiences over the past 20-30 years beat it out of me.

Now I just accept that some people are habitual liars, bullshitters, Faux-”victims” or fucked up in some way that all the help in the world isn’t gonna fix.

And actually, in a lot of cases, offering some types of help merely enables the bad behaviour.

And another dynamic to this... I’ve learned that some people prefer to be lied to instead of hearing the truth. They want to believe the bullshit instead of facing reality.

That’s basically why/how Crooked Trump got elected. It’s how idiot Rob Ford became mayor of Toronto as well.

If I was “like that,” it was from being a lazy consumer of information. Take a guy like Antonin Scalia, for instance. You can question his politics, but you can’t question his intellect. In the case of Trump’s “base,” the ones he panders to with his bullying, I have to question the latter with them.
