Think of a wife as a one-person HOA, with MUCH more power. To them it’s all just an ugly eyesore. I think my wife would be fine if I brought home something genuinely attractive, but I don’t have that kind of budget to work with, so she’s going to have to deal with my beaters for a while.

My wife supports my passion as we’re 5 vehicles deep with a one lane driveway and no garage. My biggest problem with a 67 land rover would be that I would bring it home and she’d be like. “Cool, but that one is mine.”

Sigh. I brought home a C5 corvette. It’s fiberglass. Not a spot of rust... visible. Still I get grief.
Why do we need it?
I don’t like it being so low.
Why is it so loud?
Why are you always tinkering with it and not paying attention to anything else?
And to some degree I can see where she’s coming from. What she doesn’t realize is there is a day coming when I will own like bazillion Buick Park Avenues, Roadmasters and Ultras. There will be buicks as far as the eye can see and there won’t be anything she can do about it.
The more she nags me, the sooner that day will come

A Roadmaster wagon just popped up on Facebook for $550. It’s rough, but runs and drives and has a title. I’m having a really hard time not buying the thing first and asking for forgiveness later.

But back on your topic, how in the fuck does he get the color (Poppy Red) correct and still call it a Defender... unless he’s trying to rope-a-dope people looking for a Defender into buying that instead. I know Rover sort of retroactively renamed the whole line Defender, but that remains Made Of Stupid.

Hah nah, shes mine forever! She’s not super into cars, but she does appreciate them. She’s got a soft spot for original coopers and anything boxy and offroady.
My mom has got a C5 with a full exhaust (including headers) and it is silly loud. They’re super fun cars.
