I need a DeVil1le .

The CT6 is such a cool car. The pricing, weight, and power are all matched to the 5-Series while offering the space and supple ride of a fullsize FWD-biased sedan. Like a blending of the Continental/S90 and 5-Series/E-Class, which is exactly where the Cadillac brand sits. Cadillac is at the crossroads between premium and luxury and if they accept this then they’ll find out that they have the widest potential market coverage of any upmarket brand.

I have a panel of cars I intend to test drive as a comparison to my K900. I sat in it at the auto show, and I love its presence and ambiance.

It’s a great car. I drove one a few months ago and really liked it. Back seat is fantastic too.

It’s a treat to drive, too. You feel the size of it, but it feels lighter than it ought to be, in a good way.

Are Premium and Luxury not the same thing?

Why did you not post a back of the napkin review? Or did you and I missed it?

It really depends on who you ask. Many people (like me) think Buick/Acura level is premium while Lexus/Mercedes/BMW are luxury. I think Cadillac is squarely the luxury category, but if you’re someone who factors in badge cache factor, you may not.

If I came into some money, a CT-6 would be my first purchase.

Everything’s gotta be sporty now. There’s few true luxury cars left, and the luxury is more about tech than comfort nowadays anyways

When I talk about how consumers engage with brands through their products I set the base hierarchy as follows:

Commodity is paying for what you need. (You need a car that works and that’s all you are paying for).

Premium is paying extra to get a little more along with what you need. (You need a car that works and will pay extra for things that make ownership more convenient or exceed your needs).

Luxury is paying for what you don’t need. (You need a car that works and will pay extra to have badges and details that do not improve the function, convenience, or further address your needs. However, they do provide a positive emotional response due to their presence).

These will be a used bargain. A friend of mine test drove the plug in hybrid version, I rode along in back - seemed like a fantastic ride.

I’m sure I didn’t, though I’ve commented on it. I went to a Cadillac event here in the Chicago area, spending 3-4 hours riding/driving various cars. Much of it was spent hooning ATS and CTS’s around an autocross course, but I rode in the back seat of a CT6 Platinum, then drove a CT6 (3.6) on the street for a bit. Oh yeah, and I did get to mash the go pedal on both the ATS-V and CTS-V. :)

I actually heard about it from a writeup someone else did on here, originally. Plus, TBH, work has been insane the last few months, and I kind of lost track of what I wanted to post on it.

Anyways to the OP’s point, I’d take it over a 535i, and I’ve driven that, too.

I intend to put that to the test. I’m going to go experience that magnetic ride suspension and compare it to my K900, which is really comfortable.

I have serious wood for the CT-6, and the CTS, too. I’m going to go see if it is as good as it looks.

I’ve got an older BMW (2000 3 series) and daily a Lexus GS350. The CTS and CT6 are both far more enjoyable to drive than the Lexus is, and I’ve driven a fair number of recent 3- and 5-series BMW’s, and the driving dynamics on the Cadillacs are superior. The interiors don’t get as much love, but I really liked the CT6 interior (back seat is truly limousine-like, front is very comfortable), and the CTS is nice, but not at Mercedes/Lexus/Audi levels (BMW isn’t the benchmark there).

It looks great, but I wish it looked as good as the Continental. I also hope it gets a V8. That’s just proper.

Your complaints have been addressed by them making it look better than the Continental.

Cadillac should only make halo cars IMO

I still think the CT6 should be the smallest sedan Cadillac makes with the CTS being an SL type coupe.

The CT6 should have the LT4 for sure to compete with the S63.
