Just got home and decided to tackle laundry. I’m obsessed with how I do my laundry. Literally, I can’t just be a normal guy and throw in detergent. No.
Instead I gotta have everything matching. Gain pods, Gain softener, Gain scent beads and Gain drier sheets.
I have no idea why I’m this way. I blame my ex wife haha.
Please tell me I’m not alone here.

No bloody clue what Gain is.. But when I do the laundry it’s red with red, blue with blue, white with white, work clothes separately.. towels on their own.. bedsheets on their own..

Fabric softener and dryer sheets are really just a waste of money. Get some dryer balls for static control. And dryer sheets make towels less effective. Yes they smell nice, but that’s about it.
Also I do nearly all the laundry for both me and Mrs. ADabOfOppo. I mix colors and wash in cold water. Never have any issues. My work clothes and BlipShift shirts get the gentle cycle.
No dryer sheets. No softener. One large box of powdered detergent will last years. Like seriously we have been using the same box of Arm&Hammer for over 2 years now.. Only just getting low.

yeah pretty much the same as me. I bought a 18kg tub probably about 3 years ago and it’s still going.

I tried the Gain scent beads for something different and didn’t like them. I used the Apple Mango Tango scent soap before it went away. Now I’m back to Tide pods and Febreeze scent beads.
... I just discovered you can still find AMT Gain on Amazon and am having a moment. Too bad I have like 200 pods to use up...

Fabric softer destroys clothes. It’s seriously nasty stuff. The bast way to remove old black asbestos tile mastic, is freaking fabric softener.
Dryer sheets clog the lint trap with wax over time.

I more or less use softener and sheets for the smell. I drive truck so it helps combat the smell of diesel fumes and stale truck haha

Oh hell yeah I used to use apple mango tango liquid detergent when the ex wife and I were first together. She got me started on it.
I now use the tropical sunrise flings, scent beads and sheets/softener. It literally will keep clothes smelling amazing for like two months in the closet.

You’re not wrong at all. I use a small amount of softener, just enough to make the clothes smell nice and feel appreciably softer.
As for drier sheet wax, I have combated that issue. I pull the lint trap once a month and wash it with simple green and warm water. Works wonders :)

You’re weird. But then again I get weird organic lavender detergent because I like that smell and the chemicals in regular detergent usually affect my skin and then I get a lavender dryer sheet.
I have no use for softener since I put my clothes in the dryer. Very few of my clothes get hung to dry, but as I buy more clothes all my shirts and sweaters are going that way because the shrinkage is fucking real!
