Why must you make the key for the locking lug nuts from the most soft metal.
The passenger side went fine, the driver side the lock decided to take a shit. So 1/2 the wheels are on with key that is no good. So how does one get a locking lug nut off with out a key?

They only make a few different lock patterns so your local Nissan dealer may have a lock nut set in stock with the same keying as yours. If you ask nicely they might even let you just borrow the key for a few minutes.

I’ve heard of welding something to the ones that are still on and then using that to get them off.

smash ‘em off with an old socket?
or ring the parts department and see how to obtain a replacement (if available)
