So I made a post previously asking you all for opinions on the TTS. A friend of mine actually bought one, let me drive it, and I thought it was great. The downside is I decided I want a car with a more “daily driver” sized interior and storage. Much to my surprise I priced out a basic S3 on USAA and it’s pretty much within my budget at around the same price of a Golf R or high optioned STI.
Every review I read seems to be raving about this car but i’m wondering what everyone here thinks?
Probably the only option I want to get is to see if I can get this amazing green color that is in this picture.

I feel they sold them here, I’d talk my wife into getting one (if we don’t go electric, but there are few electric options that are practical right now)...

Absolutely love them. Clean lines, good proportions and interior where you can put the damn screen away.

Performance wise, they would be great, my only beef is the proportions. I’ve been a fan, and ex owner of a B8 S4, and to me, those are the better proportioned of the two. The 3 always seemed a bit too tall for its width... same way the Buick Encore looks too tall for its width. I think the golf R is the prettier of the twins, but I prefer the audi brand better. If you’re a fan of the styling, then I’m pretty certain you won’t be disappointed by the performance, so if it’s in your budget, go for it. But maybe look at a CPO option to save some coin? And if you want something a bit bigger, a CPO S4 is probably similar money. Just a thought.

I like them. We only get the sedan. One of, if not the best small sedans out there (if you think a 3 series/S4 is too big now like I do). They also look great in white.

I have a B8.5 S4. I have sat in a friend’s S3, you need to try out the front and back seats and judge for yourself if it’s spacious enough or not.

If you put a B5 Audi beside this generation A3/S3/RS3 sedan the body contours are nearly identical. Its an optical illusion of sorts because I never thought either of the two B5 I owned were as tall. I would own one. I current have the 08 A3 Sportback , my daughter has a B8 A4. Aside from rear seat legroom and trunk larger than my hatch area there isn’t much difference in space.

My friend owns one, I’ve driven it. It’s tons of fun and the interior is pretty superb, but he misses having a manual.

That’s one thing that interests me about it. I’ve had a Mustang GT for about 4 years now and I think 420hp is too much for me and the size of the car is too large. I like the size and power of this car, it does make me think of a B5 S4.

Ya i’m not sure if I will miss a manual or not. I have not one but two project cars that are both manual though so I think I should be ok.

Yeah, then you’ll probably be ok. Ironically, that friend’s planning an old diesel manual G-class to go with his S3, so he’ll likely end up in the same boat!

Yes, very close to B5 S4 size and the hp it has is easily managed with the AWD. No showboating because it just scoots instead of spinning tires. Its an awesome car.

It is.
I decided to ask them for the yellow color though because it is $0 and this green is $3500 lol. I like them about the same and they offer the same kind of look.
Instead of the green I got the black package and the package with the magnetic ride which still is less money they the green costs when combined lmao.
