I’ve been working on new contracts at a new location for my company for the past week, waking up at 4AM to get on site by 6AM, and then getting home around 8PM and hitting the bed at 11PM or so. Yesterday driving home I drove auto-pilot style right through a red light, maneuvering around an F250 that was already in the intersection headed the same direction as me. It didn’t occur to me that I had done this until I got back into my lane and saw the stopped traffic behind me (and one very angry truck driver). Make sure you’re getting enough sleep Oppo, and if you find yourself dozing off while driving, pull over and take a break or a short nap, or call someone to come get you. I could have killed someone yesterday because I didn’t do any of that.

im working from home today on account of the fact that I knew driving into the office on the limited sleep I got this week would be bad news. Only at fault accident I ever had as a adult was a sleep related brain fart.

This is very important. And also to remember that if you’re late then you’re late. Don’t try to get there faster if there is absolutely no chance in hell you’ll be there on time. It’ll just increase your chances of messing up and endangering others.

Years ago I fell asleep while driving to work. Doing a similar schedule, up at 4:30 AM not home until 8. Scared the shit out of me. I was on a highway and just woke up about 100-200 yards down the road from where I was previously.

Here’s my idiot moment.
I was driving up to Seattle from Oregon. I was on the I5 just south of Seattle and kind of sleepy. I was driving along in the fast lane when I suddenly realized I was drifting towards the median. I quickly corrected and woke the fuck up.
