Because fuck living, sometimes.

But there are related questions to this, like: what happens after you die? Is there a soul? Can consciousness stand in for a soul? Because for me, a better choice would be one where I get to pick between living forever or dying and living again, between punting my soul to some waiting room or erasing it forever.

Fine, just to make it car-related:

TBH, I like the idea of a re-boot better than living forever. If that’s possible.

The bible actually covers that, supposedly there is a newness to everything, like every time you do something there it’s like the first time you have done it, nothing ever gets boring.

Then again, I still don’t think there is much in the way of challenges.

I think the premise of the first video is crap personally, I think challenge breeds growth and without growth whats the point? Similarly, death as a part of life needs to be an balance of forces to create the essence and motive of living a fulfilling experience on the earth. I think they use a lot of bad logic that sounds good on the surface to move the plot along but in practice its no good. false analogies and associations, et cetera.

I will concede that my spiritual understand encompasses an eternal life and I honestly don’t know what to make of that. I mean...do I really want to exist forever? I’m already easily bored. I think the hard part for me to wrap my head around and the one part of the top video that DOES make sense is that there can be eternal growth. Our brains don’t really get the idea of infinite. I mean...really really big and long...sure, but limitless?

On a serious note - Don’t be so down. The brain is really good at taking a crappy external situation and compounding it internally. It reteaches itself to reform its reality around the parameters that it feeds itself. Its a lot like congress deciding its own pay....

anyway

Point is that if you are feeling down its very likely that objectively its not nearly as big a deal as your brain makes it feel.

I think even if everything in life is going well, the brain goes through ups and downs. People are sensitive to seasonal changes, environments, routines, etc.

If I’m feeling down, I go for a drive. Usually fixes it.
