Normally, I am happy when it rains, especially when it was not on any forecast. Especially when the state is on fire.
But not today. This week, all of my efforts and intentions have been thwarted. I went to a mediation where nothing was accomplished. I juggled my schedule to set up a settlement conference in LA, and 2 truck accidents with fire backed up traffic for miles, preventing me from getting to court. I have to go back to SF today for an industry “retreat” that I do not want to attend.
After everything I intended to acconplish this week ended in frustration and ineffectiveness, my only solace was that I was going to take the Sunchaser to SF. Warm, sunny weather was in the forecast. I woke up to rain. I think the gods are trying to send me a message.
I am definitely leaving the dumb retreat early tomorrow to get back in time for my son’s marching band competition. That is, unless there is a Kaiju attack while I am in SF and I can’t get home.
Sorry for the gloom. Hope you have a good Friday. And in the end, if this storm gets the fires under control, then bring on the rain.

A couple days ago I was going to Rodeo beach and a fire had started over sausalito by the side of the highway. It has happened before but with everything else going on it was a bit much. Luckily I made it through before they shut the highway down and a cal fire plane circled around, it passed over the beach a couple times. They also had a spotter plane that was an old Army Bronco I think. I’ve seen the BLM in MT with those too. My Merc had ash all over it, hopefully it rained enough to clean it off, but it’s probably a mess.

Giant primordial creatures always have a propensity for destroying the golden gate bridge. Shit must be made out of something they REALLY hate. I mean if I was a giant reptile, I would rather just go under the thing so that I dont get the cables all wrapped around my legs.

It’s hard to bet against Halak. Very solid goalie. Stolen more than a couple games through his career... NHL and internationally

I guy has just parked up and a car comes screaming past and takes off the driver’s door. A few seconds later a police car pulls up and the officer runs around and says, ‘are you okay, you need to sit down!?’, the driver says, ‘did you see that car, came screaming past and took off my door, the ruddy swine’. The officer less panicked now says, ‘you lawyers, your so materialistic’, the guy looks at the officer and says, ‘how did you know I was a lawyer?’, the officer replies, ‘your only bothered about your possessions, I bet you haven’t even noticed the car also ripped your arm off!?’, the lawyer looks down to where his arm was and shouts, ‘WHERE’S MY BLOODY ROLEX?’.
