How to learn Spanish quickly and efficiently?

What are some resources you’ve used to learn a new language?

I’m fluent in English and Tagalog, and am now looking into taking up Spanish to help with my career and for genuine interest.

I learned Tagalog by watching movies and tv, observation, and asking many questions.

I took three years of French, and a semester of Spanish, but honestly don’t remember much when it comes to speaking; due to lack of practice and opportunities to speak with others.

What are your resources?

By the way, work has been well. I’ve been having fun, been keeping busy, earning my keep, and learning and meeting a lot of people.

The one time my wife and I used it, we found Rosetta Stone to be fairly useful for French. Knowing another Romance language already will help, too.

Duolingo and Rosetta Stone have been great for my Swedish. Rosetta Stone is slightly better but also costs money. Listening to music in the target language with the song lyrics in front of you (original and translated, side by side) can also be helpful.

Watch movies and listen to music in Spanish, switching your PC and phone to Spanish will help too, at least that’s how I learned English. Also the difference between Spanish from Spain and from Mexico for example is quite big so make sure you learn the dialect that you will use.

There is an app that’s called Memrise that I found more useful than Duolingo too.
