If you want the real answer, the simulation is verified with a result, be that scale testing, or using a different, cheaper vehicle, and once the simulation is verified to work correctly, you can simulate other things with a high degree of confidence.

That’s why it is the only car to be federalized that way. They realised simulated testing wasn’t a proper substitute after the Escort was already tested so they couldn’t retroactively deny them. You can’t use simulations anymore.

I happened to watch some of that episode of Wheeler Dealers last night, and when they got all excited about adding the third wing because “that’s what the original designer envisioned” and sure it improved downforce they said, I thought, a) I don’t like the look, it just makes it a big mass hanging off the back, and b) I don’t think this would add value to the unicorn, since it is no longer actually original.
I would expect that a buyer who would get excited by the chance to buy a Ford Escort RS Cosworth is someone who has wanted the real deal, and would most likely not be interested in one that doesn’t look right due to the third wing.
Seemed like a bad move, although I imagine they found a “buyer” who acted like they always wanted one with an extra wing on the back.

Yeah, i didn’t really care for the wing at all. Not even the original. I would have taken it off and put it in storage. In case I wanted to sell it later on.
But now, I agree. They fucked it all up and sold it to previous owner who was more interested in the contents of the exhaust pipe more than the wing.
I really hate this show now.

Understood. I watched the new episode, and honestly it wasn’t that bad. It calls into question Edd’a claim that they wanted to reduce his segments, because they had Ant praddling on about rebuilding a turbo for quite a while, which I found interesting. But I’ll always be team Edd. Ant is fine, just a little too pee pants excited all the time.

Team Edd! Edd is now on Bad Obsession Motorsports. Serving tea, biscuits and sweeping the shop. However, I still think they are going to put him to better use.
We need to GoFund them getting their own show. Project Binky has been years in the making. It took them 4 months to build an L bracket for a power steering pump for Pete’s sake.
