Rotated the tires on my dad’s truck, plus checking the fluids because the water and power steering pumps are seeping and I’m going to start driving it for a while. 35 inch mud tires are heaaavy, especially when you’re doing it on jackstands in the garage.

I kinda hate driving this thing because there’s some (not dangerous) front end stuff worn out, but my dad would kill me if I just let it sit there and rot now that he’s gone. He still might haunt me for putting tacks through the headliner so it doesn’t tickle my head.

You’ve got that much lift and you’re only on 35"s? This is why square wheel wells are stupid, Chevy. You basically have to cut them to get any tire in there without going all monster truck with the lift.

Does your dad daily this? It’s a cool looking truck, really clean. For some reason I don’t see many of these around me.

0.5 inches between the side of the fender and tire with 4 feet of space on top of it.

It’s a 6 inch lift iirc, and GMT800s sit really low stock so I always thought 35s were a decent size to fit in there.

He did, it was his baby. It’s a bit wore out now and a hail storm made the roof and hood look like a golf ball but it still cleans up well. The paint has always caught my eye, there’s so much metal flake in it.

Pulling tires off a truck with 35s on it was one of my first tasks when I started working in a shop when I was 15. I did it on a 4 post lift though and learned a lot very quickly about handling heavy wheels. It was not fun, but a great lesson!
