Kinja'd!!!

Jesus, what a way to murder the best and longest running racing game franchise. Only 27 tracks, almost as many cars as the first GT from 1997. This Online Only bullshit that games are doing now. No career mode. No weather.

Oh, well that’s a little disappointing

Lo and behold, the servers are down. I can’t access anything but arcade races and the options menu.

Beats what CSR2 has become. They just did a minor update. Four new events. Each requiring a $20USD car to compete in, and likely unable to finish without paying more. And yes, that is $20 PER car. For a one time event that is 30 drag races long. For an Android/IOS drag racing game.

Honestly Forza 7 hasnt impressed me either...and need for speed is ALWAYS utter Garbage... And project cars 2 is something I wouldn’t pay for after the terrible first one, they have lost me as a customer.

I was all excited to buy it, but than I saw some other reviews saying it is pretty much only online. My internet is way to damn slow to be playing online so I always prefer to just play career mode. Looks like its Project Cars II for me.

No Grand Valley, Midfield, Trial Mountain, or my favorite Deep Forest. Also puzzling that Spa and Le Mans are no shows right now.

The actual racing is fun and feels very much like of GT titles. Gorgeous looking too.

Just feels like they are willing counting on Online to flesh out the game instead of an actually career mode.

Had the game on pre-order since last November (my parents bought it for me as my Christmas gift, as I thought it would be out earlier this year). Now that I finally have it, gotta say I’m impressed with it. Although I haven’t done an online race yet, even just dabbling in the arcade mode is still good fun, lets you feel out the cars and tracks. Still sucks I gotta be Level 20 to do Nurburgring, but I like it since it’s a goal I’ve to shoot for. Whereas on Assetto Corsa and Project Cars I had free reign on tracks and stuff, which was how I burnt myself out from sim racing. At least with GT Sport I have some goals in mind regarding unlocks/racing.

Not that I mean to shoot at Assetto Corsa or Project Cars, but I gotta say I am liking GT Sport over both of them, mainly due to the replay-ability factor.

(Might also be biased because I’ve waited so long for it.)

Is that really it? Is this a really full $60 game? Or is more of an in between game like GT Prologue?

I havent invested time in Gran Turismo since like GT3/4. Been all Forza since then. And now I really only play FH3. I’ve become a much more casual gamer in my old age.

I am so utterly disappointed with this game. As someone who was in school when Gran Turismo came out I’ve been a long-time fan and I’m happy to admit I don’t think I’m in the game’s true demographic any more, but I’m genuinely angry about how utterly shit the track and car choice is. No career? Kazunori you can go violate yourself with a splintered gatepost.

People keep saying good things about Mazda, but their first car didn’t even have four wheels. They lost me as a customer.

Sarcasm aside though: I agree the Forza 7 disappointing, GT Sport is lacking in content and there hasn’t been a good NFS game this decade. PCars 2 should really be given a second chance though, if simulators are your thing.
