Yeah, it felt weird because I use that term via text way more often than I do out loud, and I know I’ve been “that guy” who points out RAS Syndrome. Ack, I’m part of the problem!
Nice thing about text is that you have capital letters at your disposal to make it stand out as an acronym. But verbally? Well, “aey tee ehm” is one thing, but “vin/Vin” doesn’t immediately sound like it stands for something else. Maybe the redundant word actually helps after all.

Like today I almost accidentally shoulder checked a girl on campus. Normally people would sorta shuffle to the right as they approach each other head on just walking down the sidewalk. But since I’m so used to my absent minded college colleagues moving to the left, I did just that. Yet this girl actually moved to the right like you should.
And in the past week I scraped my front bumper on slight inclines twice because I was just being too lazy to pay more attention.
