Recently I have noticed a sharp uptick in the number of Mitsubishi Delicas, around Oregon. It has gotten to the point that I see at least 5 a week, all RHD 3rd gen and all passenger vans. I know the US got the Delica from 1987 to 1990 but the ones I’ve been seeing seem to all be imports.

Kinja'd!!!

Any reason these are so popular? Also what is the most common imported car in your state?

For me, and probably for most, it seems to be R32 skylines at this point.

I’m in CA but yeah I’ve seen a few. Some import sites have some decent ones for sale now and I would totally want a diesel 4X4 Delica! I drool over nice ones in Japan, I saw a brand new one with all the off road options in Izu a couple years ago, so nice.

There are at least 5 of these within 5 blocks of my home. An acquaintance of mine has one. He’s told me he loves the fact he can load it up and after arriving at a spot to camp for the night, all the gear is put on the expansive roof to leave a full mattress in the back for him and his wife. This, and 4WD.

I was going to ask why, but then again people here go crazy for cars like the Twingo. I remember my uncle telling me that old American luxobarges are pretty popular in Norway as well.

The R32 Skyline for Virginia, by a wide margin. Japanese Classics is here in the Richmond area, and the port of Norfolk probably sees a lot of them come in on their own.

over here...eh...its part love of american cars... and part image.... look at me and my huge ass barge that has no practical purpose here whoopwhoop

i mean... i love tiny lil cars... but if i ever find my big ole purple impala wagon.. i’d snap it up and spend the rest of me days double or tripple parking everywhere and cruising round at 10 below the limit blasting motown and classic rock :p

its just gotta be done (least till the fuel cost makes me pass it on to the next idiot with the same idea)

Have you seen the price of a decent Westy? That’s why Delicas are everywhere.

Here in BC we are running up on 2003 Jdm models, so R34 Skylines are almost done. Delicas, Surf, Patrols, and 80 Series LCs are everywhere. I follow a Beat in the morning commute, and an Evo V on the way home.

My favourite is a 4door 4x4x Nissan Atlas;

I’m in Washington, so for a specific model, it has to be Delicas here too. I don’t know enough to tell all the little kei trucks and vans apart, but I’m reliably informed that they are popular and more are coming in all the time. Diesel Land Cruisers are probably next, followed by various RHD Nissans (because dorifto, or because Cedrics are a lot cheaper than Centuries), all of which were probably beaten half to death in BC for ten years first.

It’s a tie between S13's and R32's.

Not a state, but in Alberta it’s probably Delicas as well, albeit usually newer.

Car wise Soarers seem to be popular. Skylines, Eunos/Mazda Roadsters, Aristos, Chasers, and various Subarus all seem to be popular too.
