He was saved from euthanasia by the Sled Dog rescue up here because his previous ignorant owner bought a kitten. And you don’t put kitties anywhere near 99% of huskies because it ends badly.

I have a 12-year-old husky. She is old, slow, and her hips and knees have gotten very stiff. This summer, in the course of about 15 seconds, she smelled a skunk 100 yards away in the dark, pulled away from me, covered the distance, and killed the skunk with one bloodless shake. Over the course of her life she has caught and killed countless small rodents and birds. Most huskies have a very strong prey drive—a kitten wouldn’t stand a chance. On the other hand, she is incredibly gentle with and protective of any new puppy that joins the family.
