I have never understood Australia’s fascination with sun visors. Visors like that seem to look look good in round cars of 50's but for me they look very weird in 80's cars.

I think the popularity of the VL amongst those who still like these cars (ie. those who want to rip skids) killed the VK off early. I’ve had a few VKs in my life.

the Opel build doesn’t last long enough on Australian roads (seriously)
when they first started testing the Commodore, they drove hard over outback roads to see how long they lasted, and it was only a matter of minutes before they failed.
the Holden engineers set up measuring equipment for stress on panels, did the tests sent the results to Opel, Opel said you did it wrong the results are off the charts, holden did it again, same result, Opel engineers came out set up the equipment only to discover Holden did it right the first time.
