The engine is pretty cool. It uses a 2.8L VW scoured VR6 known to MB as the M104.900, the only differnce was the cover & air cleaner box.

The VR6 means that despite that short hood and cramped engine bay, most things shouldn’t be too hard to access and maintenance should be pretty straightforward.

These are great vans. Sometimes done up as luxury transport/pick up vehicles from airports or doing business on journeys that don’t require anything larger, we have a few as taxis where I live.
