It’s just one extra bolt to remove the trailing arm they said. No point in getting the tool they said.

NOPE! Because that one bolt is blocked by the shock and you also have to remove the e-brake cable because it runs through the trailing arm.

Still not too bad, I think, but I don’t think I have the time for all that today.

Probably won’t need to remove the shock though. I’ll just take it to the shop with the hub and rotor still on. But the e brake’s gotta go.

What are you fixing and/or replacing?

Trailing arm bushing (along the right edge of the circle.) The “correct” way to do it is to get a $160 special Honda puller, since I think it’s too big for normal ones. But I’m just gonna remove the whole trailing arm and take it to a nearby shop to press out.

But it is only one extra bolt! One extra bolt once you have everything else off.

I’ve always avoided those bushings because they’re such a pain.

Thankfully the car’s never lived any where were they salt the roads and so so the suspension bolts have never given me too much trouble.

It’s just that e-brake is probably gonna be a bitch.

I’ll go buy the shop to see how much they’ll charge to do it completely, because if they have the tool it might not be that bad.

But more than likely I’ll just take the arm off Sunday afternoon and take it to them on Monday morning (since I don’t have anything going on Monday mornings)

That’s good. Rust down there is the worst. Every time I have needed to mess with the e-brake, I forget it’s been engaged until I fight it for a few minutes. Every time. It’s counter-intuitive to lift a car and then go an release the e-brake.

I knock those out and back in with an air hammer. Takes about twenty minutes

Don’t have compressed air (I live in an apartment) but I think I’ll give it a shot with a regular hammer. I’ve heard the hole’s tapered so if you hit it from the right way it only takes a few minutes to knock out and back in.
