I decided long before I had my own car that I disliked cars that were Red, Black, or white.

White because it’s just boring. Black because it hide the shape of a well designed car, which means r only belongs on ugly cars. And Red because it is the default of people who just don’t want a boring color.

But you know what I’ve owned. 2 white cars, 2 black cars, and 2 red cars. So 2/3 of the cars I’ve owned have been colors i dislike.

However dark green is in my top three, and 3 of my vehicles have been dark green. My Camry, my Tacoma, and my Integra.

There are a few cars that look goddamn awesome in black. Mostly those that mix “sinister” with “enough shape to stand being flattened out a bit”. But for the vast majority, meh. And I’m with you on white or red (unless it’s an Alfa).

My faves are dark green, dark blue, and for classics only, primrose. None of which I’ve ever actually owned, go figure.

My favorites are dark green, light blue, and almost any shade of purple, or real.

I get the black/sinister thing, but I’ve never liked that style. Just not my thing.

I went looking for an awesome blacked out MKVIII but I found this green one instead.

The only cars I’ve ever owned have been red.*

Red is for when people think “Well, black cars are too hot, white is for people who can’t afford stainless refrigerators, silver is too expensive, so I guess I’ll buy red!”

God I want a green car.

*edit: in my defense, I’ve only owned two(!) cars and the first was free...

Depends in the red, I’d say. All these Bentley colors run under “red”. I find none of them boring (though it’s still a matter of taste and I despise the pinkish cars).

I like to think that the designer has a certain color(set) in mind when he makes the first drawings. That’ll be the colors the cars will look best in. The black and silver era seems to steer to it’s end. Visible only 20 years later, when the majority finally landed in the scrap press.

Or in my case, I went the one with the manual transmission and the 20% discount the dealer was offering on it, so I learned to like red.

I have had Pontiacs old Dark Cherry Metallic which is kind of a purple, I’ve had a teal 90s Chevy pickup, an orange Grand Prix and now a white WRX. I will never have a white vehicle again. My wife has a dark grey Forester and our latest pickup is a brownish Tundra. I guess I’ve had quite the color collection.
