I like the PT; very sensible car, even if it’s underpowered and has a crappy rear suspension. I’m driving a Versa now that I stumbled into and I like it very much and it’s probably a better car than the PT.

I worked for an auto supplier. When in town for customer visits it was customary to pick their brand of vehicle as your rental when practical. After getting stuck with a that color PT Cruiser one trip and a pale purple PT Cruiser on the next trip and both of those absolute shitboxes trying their damndest to kill me... I went with the Pontiac G whatever the fuck they called the Grand Am (or was it Grand Prix?) the next time I was in town for a visit with Chrysler. Fuck the PT Cruiser with a 10 foot rusty pole full of tetanus and rabies and diarrhea. That is a horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible car and anybody involved in the approval process for that piece of shit should be ashamed of themselves. The damn gear shift knob had such bad mold flashing left on it that you just about cut yourself trying to put the stupid thing in gear. The driving dynamics were anything but, and that car actively try’s to kill you if you have the misfortune of getting cut off on an on ramp and need to hit the brakes while the wheel is ever so slightly turned. And holy shit gutless, but at least it makes up for the lack of power with a complete lack of refinement and excessive NVH. I pulled out of the rental lot and immediately put the hate to the miserable piece of shit. After about 20-30 seconds of foot to the floor the car was just about shaking itself apart and it felt like we must have been going at least 100. I backed off the gas long enough for the vibrations to subside so I could read the speedometer... TWENTY FUCKING SEVEN MILES PER HOUR. I thought I was going to die because the car felt like it was actively disassembling itself around me and I was going 27 miles per hour. It will be a great day when the last one of those pieces of shit dissolves itself into rust.
