Kinja'd!!!

Apparently Car & Driver has been pushing articles on this since 2015... I never knew it existed, and have certainly never seen one. Do these exist?

Yes, I’ve seen one exactly one. It’s really not as bad as I thought it would be.

Surely it can’t? They haven’t been consistently pushing it on April fools have they? This car is simply too cool to exist in the US market.

I saw one in upstate New York once. In person the lift doesn’t look as dramatic as in the press photos. I still don’t understand why you’d buy this over the wagon variant. I guess to give the consumer choice.

We can’t have nice things, can we?

I was always mad at Subaru for killing the outback sedan. The want is strong for this car if it exists.

Edit: THEY DO EXIST! And are ridiculously priced compared to non-XC AWD S60s...

Every one of these we’ve sold here got a bunch of accessory add ons. Metal skid plates, roof rails, kayak holders, bike stuff, mudflaps, etc. I’d personally get the V60 variant of the Cross Country but boosted AWD sedans are always rad, especially semi off-roady types like this. Fits the mature adventurer crowd.

Crossover hatchbacks and estates are one thing.

Because it’s the combination of the two stupidest things you can do: Having a sedan and pretending to be Subaru. At least the wagon gets one of them right.

I also never knew they were a thing until I spotted one in my neighborhood, which I continue to see it here every once in a while. Davenport, IA, btw.
