I just ordered a sweet vent mounted cup holder. It’s so “JDM” it has what is probably Japanese characters on it.
The only factory cup holders in my car are about 1.5" deep, and built into a tray that fits in the center console storage.

Just the Chinese characters wouldn’t tell you whether it’s Japanese or Chinese (Japanese writing uses Chinese characters heavily), but the displayed romanisation is definitely Chinese.

They are very clearly an after thought. Some one at Mitsubishi went, of yeah if we sell this in American it needs cup holders... just make a little tray that’ll go under the armrest and put some dents in it. Boom cupholders.
