1 - where do I sign up to sit in voluntary traffic while half the road is free and clear?

2 - something something move over for emergency vehicle. I don’t know the laws in that area, but here, you have to move over if you see emergency vehicle with flashing lights. Hello, Officer would have been my queue to move over into 1st lane. But temporarily. After I pass, i can go back and do what you did.

Dumb driving habbits in my book will forever be left lane hogs going under speed limit.

In my neck of the woods, trucks can’t go into left lane for the most part. This leaves left lane hogs the left lane to hide from trucks.

I wish I could mount a paintball gun or a water squirt gun or something to shoot at them and wake them up. I don’t want to cause damage or anything. just wake them up. Hey bozo. wake up and move over. You clearly are in no rush to get anywhere. Move over into the shoulder and wait there till you have to be some place. Then go at normal highway speeds following normal highway rules.

In my state, it’s “move over OR slow down” for emergency vehicles. If you have an entire empty lane width as a safety buffer, there’s no need to slow down. If you slow down, there’s no need to move over (but it is preferable).

I can see you met one of the Guardians of the Highway. Glad you got around him easily. I had one block me once. Self righteous moron.

Also, good cruising music.

They are all sheep, this makes no sense. Reminds me when I passed 50 cars going 20 mph on a snowy road. The cars were all in the right lane driving on solid ice, the passing lane was 4" of fluffy snow, way more traction so I could easily do 60-70 mph.

Yeah, except that there’s nothing righteous about veering out of your lane (without signaling, I might add) like that. That trucker wasn’t maintaining any virtue for himself. He was intentionally blocking a valid lane of travel. I’m sure it screws with his sense of fairness to be legitimately passed when he was legitimately there first, but it was his own choice to merge early and leave such a massive gap.

In GA, the law is one lane over, or (general guidance) minimum of 25MPH under the posted limit if moving over is not possible. OCGA 40-6-16 states that you should be at least under the posted speed limit and “prepared to stop”

Im looking at getting Hakkas for the Saabaru Im picking up. That will literally be unstoppable! Although it has to survive driving in LA so thats going to be wheel swapping every weekend lol.

If everyone waited till the last second to merge jams like that would move much quicker. Many studies have been done and conclusively prove that the later traffic merges together when a lane is closed the faster it moves.

Also pretty sure it would be backed up by a basic flow rate equation.

Iowa is a lot more polite than pittsburgh.

Also they should be occupying both lanes with a zipper merge at the end. they don’t even get it right here. But we manage to fuck it up in an entirely unique way.

We merge long before we need to. In Pittsburgh, people keep treating it like two lanes long after it’s gone down to one.

In a lot of western sates you have to either pull over a lane or reduce your speed by 25 mph for emergency vehicles. But yeah, why the hell did everyone get over so early? I wonder if that cop was sitting in that lane before you got there.

Kinja'd!!! "sm70- why not Duesenberg?" (sm70-whynotduesenberg)

1. I thought about it, but I was only going about 40 in a 55 so I figured I’d just keep cruising.

2. It’s the midwestern mentality. As soon as you become aware that a lane will be closed, or even if you think it might be, you must form a line. Anyone who keeps going in the soon-to-be-closed lane is cutting in line, and that’s cheating and not nice.
