I’m not well-versed on Volvo issues, but I would daily the hell out of an S80. They’re comfortable, V8-powered Swedish goodness.

I thought these were mostly FoMoCo products. My understanding is they’re not the best years of volvo.

Rad cars. Anything made of rubber is a bit more fidgety than normal per Euro FoMoCo. Besides that, rad alternative to beige and typical luxury. Long live the Ikea of cars.

I learnt to drive mostly on a 2001 S80. Made it to 230000km with no faults.

Thickest and most comfortable seats you’ll get in a car this side of a Rolls Royce. Turning radius of a cargo train. There was a cord phone in the armrest and the little nav screen came with a remote.

A twin-turbo straight 6 with a four speed won’t set any records but it was fast enough and smooth and made for comfort.

To my knowledge it’s living out its golden years somewhere out in west Queensland. Good car. The newer one can only be better.

My dad’s DD is an 08 s80 t6. Sneaky fast, really a good sleeper, and the most comfortable seats ever fitted in a car
