You had a notification, it would tell you what post it was referring, and not a number?
You CLICKED on a notification, and it took you directly to the post it referred, and not to the top of the story, forcing you to scroll and scroll and scroll?
Remember when there was an issue with Kinja, and it’d be fixed in no less than a few days?

In practice they were terrible. The quality of the associated comments was almost always terrible. And of course it never really selected what you’d expect.

Yeah, I don’t get why they have to keep messing with it. If its working fine, leave it alone, stop taking away features that were functioning properly.
