They don’t even sell it with the correct grille like that anymore. Near impossible to order it that way, and officially gone in the next refresh.

If I was going to get a Mercedes, apart from a C63 AMG, I’d want a hood ornament. It’s probably one of my favorite thing about Mercedes. I just wish they had driven a little better, I found the suspension to be too floaty, but then maybe that’s because I only drove the luxury trim. Probably should have driven a sport, because the grills are interchangeable.

While I prefer leather for a number of reasons, I’m surprised they don’t offer a manual on the AMGs. Even the older ones from the 80s and 90s all had autos. I just don’t get it. The C63 seems like a perfect fit for a manual.

While I do like the leather interior in my M3, I would rather not climb into it after it’s been sitting in the sun all day. Plus I really liked the seats in the rental B-Class I had, they were cloth and very comfortable.
I don’t know why they didn’t put manuals in any AMG, I get the current gen not having them, but you’d figure at least on AMG from the past would come with it. I might have looked at a C63 AMG if they had come with a stick.

If I was somehow to make enough money to get a C63 AMG, I’d want to swap out the grill and put a hood ornament on it, but it has a different grill from the normal C-Class.

I like them for being easier to clean, but I’m sure MB makes a very comfortable cloth seat. I wish Audi would have put manuals on the S6 and RS6 too.

Historically mercedes manuals have been akin rock tumblers in their refinement. Sad as it is, the autoboxes have been better choices for over 20 years for the make.
Bein said, its still more fun to row through soup than not row at all. So if they had brought the late 204s with the little diesel and a manual id of been on it.

I owned a P31 C63 for about 4 years.
Park it next to a non-AMG C class and you’ll realize, how wide the front is compared to the non-AMG. The big tri-star looks a lot better and sporty on the AMG with the wide front.
On the other hand, I also owned a 2007 E550 for almost 3 years, and it was the one with hood ornament. And I absolutely loved.
Different cars, different styles, different hood emblems.

I get why most of these cars we’re offered with a manual, but that doesn’t stop me from wishing they had been offered with a manual.
If they had offered the face lifted W204 with a stick, I probably would have had to at least test drive it.

They do look good with the big tri-star on the grill; however, I would like the pleasure of looking ay mt hood ornament while I drive along. Like I do now with the power bulge on my M3.
I test drove a 2013 E350 and really liked looking at the hood ornament. I also test drove a 2009 C63 AMG, and despite it lacking a hood ornament, I almost bought it.
