Long way, Longer way or Longest way?

Headed to a work conference. I could take the highway but thats BOOORING so Im going to take one of three routes.

Route 1 goes up the canyon and over, it takes about the same time as the highway and is all paved but its a pretty sweet drive.

Note: amazing fall colors to be replaced by snow and red leaves.

Route 2 is up over another mountain and its much longer and mostly rough track. It may even be closed I have no idea. [update - Its open]

Route 3, even longer and mostly paved but pretty

Talking 50 minutes, an hour 130 and 2 hours difference. I have to be there by 3 is all.

Easy choice - #3. Seems like you can’t risk #2.

its awfully pretty pavement. I’ve done route 2 a few years in a row now and it doesn’t hold many surprises for me anymore.

Given that there’s a specific time you need to be somewhere, I’m boring and take the safest of the three options. At least it’s a pretty drive and not the highway, though.

Enough time if they’re closed and you have to reroute, though? Given the choice between all three with no threat of closure, I’d go in order of 2-3-1. I was hoping to get out here before some closures, but I may have missed the boat. I need to do some research.
