Does anyone here play it? I just got started last weekend and have been having a blast! Especially after I upgraded my computer a bit to bring it up to snuff. I’ve mostly been playing in duo mode with a good friend.

Kinja'd!!!

Also the vehicles are very Jalop! There is a Lada, a UAZ, and a dune buggie. Additionally, there are servers that play Death Race sometimes, everyone lines up at the “start” and weapons aren’t allowed till after the first bridge. Anyone that doesn’t make it to the start is allowed to set ambushes, Kotaku did an article on it recently. I very much want to play that way!

There’s a Dacia 1300, and a UAZ 469. I don’t know what the buggy is.

I play my username is adumpsterfire. My headset recently broke so I have no voice chat at the moment.

This is a game that seems like it would be right up my alley, but I’m a console guy for the most part. I don’t even have a PC that can play any “real” games.

Oh man, that game is so crazy addictive and fun! I highly recommend getting a group of 4 for squads. That’s where true hilarity lives!

Just a VW Beetle-based sand rail I think

My friend bought his brother a copy, so that’ll get us to 3, we can find one more or just random match the 4th. I think it will be a ton of fun. We’ve already been having so much fun in Duo mode.

The solo play is fairly boring compared to duo.

ah okay, I’m planning on getting a headset at some point. It’s crazy hard to hear where people are coming from through the speakers in my TV.

Yeah, it’d take a good $500+ to build something that’ll handle it at 1080p, unless you buy something used, you can probably get that number down. But you should only do that if you intend to get into PC gaming for more than just PUBG.

I think they are planning an XBOX One version at some point. Hopefully they’ll allow cross-platform play.

At least once a year I think, ok I’m finally going to put together a PC that can play games. I’m in IT professionally, so I always have the newest top notch (for business) laptops. Even the business laptops with “upgraded” graphics cards, aren’t quite enough to play games. So spending money on a computer is a tough pill to swallow, but I know that I would enjoy it.

Some of those laptops can handle games quite well, depending on the dedicated card they have.

And I hear you, I built my PC 5 years ago and finally felt this year that i could stomach the cost of upgrading it, haha. The neat thing is, for about $150 for a graphics card, it’s really all I needed, my processor while getting old is still plenty fast.

In addition I did opt for more memory and an SSD, but those weren’t necessary to play the latest games (although I’m sure as an IT professional you can appreciate the awesomeness of an SSD). So PC gaming really doesn’t have to be as expensive as the $900 graphics cards and $1000 fancy gaming monitors that some people “need”.

My work laptop will run some games, but not well. I wish I had a decent desktop that I could just upgrade, but the only one I do have is old, low spec, and currently operating as a headless linux box for backup/network sharing.

Everything I buy for work is quad-core, ssd, and at least 16gb ram. So if I could get my hands on one of our slightly used desktops I could add a graphics card and be on my way.

Alternatively I happened to find out yesterday that Optiplex’s are going dirt cheap on ebay. I’m personally getting one with a 4th gen i5, 16gb ram and a 2TB harddrive for $200. After that all you’d need for gaming is perhaps a GTX 1050 TI and a power supply that can handle it.

Funny thing is, I needed 16gb for my gaming PC, so I’ll be swapping it with the 8gb currently in there. And the Dell will take over as my HTCP, for which 8GB should be plenty.
