Kinja'd!!!

Mechanic just replaced the entire oil filter housing assembly in case there was a hairline crack causing those recurrent gasket leaks. Free of charge.

Now we patiently await the next thing to go wrong lol

I had a reoccurring leak there on my 128i as well. I was going to get an ECS metal filter cap, but I ended up moving on from the car first.
