I work in a restaurant. I get a discount when I buy food there, it’s discounted then taxed. Say I order a meal, it comes too $19.84 I get 50% off (25% off shift). I pay $9.92 after discount, then tax is applied. I already pay taxes all ready with the discount, so why pay more taxes?

‘Not looking to target the country’s retail workers’ but retail workers are the ones who mostly benefit from the discount. How does this not target them? Load of horseshit.
I work at a restaurant *snort, chuckle* too, but the greedy bastards give me my discount one time as I am leaving. No more until I come back. Another load of horseshit. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HORSESHIT IN THE WORLD?!

Interesting fact. The Clio V6 at the Lane is one of the most difficult vehicles that they have to drive. Beyond the museum parking lot it’s thought of as too risky to take out because of how squirrelly it is. They said they’re honestly surprised it hasn’t been offed yet.

I don’t know your political situation, but that’s messed up. People can sell their products to whomever they want for whatever they want to charge. If in this case, it’s for less than the general population, that’s none of the government’s business. You can’t tax what isn’t charged.

yeah, we have to be super careful with employee “gifts” or “prizes” down here or else they will be considered income and taxed. That employee discount, especially at a service type business like a restaurant, seem to take that even one step further. I’ll bet if you do the math it ends up being a regressive tax too...

the last I think is a 2005 Renault Megane Sport 255 or SportCup 225.
She’s had a few Renaults.

That’s daft.
In the U.K. we don’t pay on discounts as the tax is already worked into the price so the discount comes off the final price.
We do however have to pay tax on bonuses or tips as it’s classed as earnings but we don’t pay tax on winnings such as the lottery of gambling (though we do pay tax on the interest of the winnings).

Yeah I don’t know why it’s so squirrelly to them. Had no problem with me possibly driving the Renault 5 Turbo or the Lancia Delta Integrale in the future but the Clio was a straight up we don’t really drive it. Also the MG Metro 6R4 Group B car was a no go because they try to keep miles off of it as parts are very hard to find.

They probably just aren’t used to the car. Haven’t take her out and really opened her up.
If they ever need any 6R4 parts just go online, there are several 6R4 parts and owner pages online in the U.K. It shouldn’t be garaged and not driven. That’s cruelty to the spirit of cars.

Thankfully we don’t have sales tax added after. We have a set 20% tax that is in the price so you know what your paying.
