Maxed out the adjustment on the clutch linkage; the throwout bearing is now likely perpetually riding the pressure plate (maybe 1/2" lash at the pedal) and if I absolutely mash the pedal down into the carpet I can barely get it into gear. It’s barely drivable and obviously not right. The z-bar measurements are right so whatever part is wrong is either the pedal itself or something that requires pulling the transmission again.

What shifter do you have?

My “step 1" would be to pull the shifter arms off of the side cover, manually put the trans in N, and see if that changes anything.

Can you drop the inspection cover (hang it by the starter hole if you need to) and take a look inside while somebody else pushes the clutch with the engine off?

Maybe you did this?

I can go through the gears fine with the engine off, it’s a hurst competition+ (adjusted correctly, not my first rodeo there). I checked the bearing installation like a dozen times because I always want to put it on the wrong way - it’s correct in this case.

With the maxed-out adjustment I was able to back out of the garage and pull back in, but like I said I’m pushing the clutch into the floor to be able to get it into gear, and it starts grabbing immediately as I let up. Something’s wrong.

Gotcha. Maybe you need an adjustable pivot ball.

I can’t imagine needing an adjustable pivot ball on an otherwise factory assembly. Also the fact that I can just barely disengage it, and almost have it fully released, makes me thing something is wrong with the travel of something, not so much an angle. I don’t see how moving the pivot of the fork would change its throw; the ratio is the same.

OK. Hope it’s something simple!

Me too. I have zero motivation left to put this thing back up on the blocks and drop the exhaust and driveshaft and pull the trans (full of fresh oil) back out and deal with all that entails. Winter is fast approaching and this needs to be in storage before everything turns to salt.
