I have a decent Bluetooth OBD adapter for my cars. The problem is that I can’t get iOS to see it. I’ve paired it with a dozen different android and windows mobile devices without issues. But I can’t seem to get any of my Apple devices to see it. It’s ridiculously frustrating. Any ideas?

IIRC the iOS bluetooth stack doesn’t play nicely with serial devices like an OBD scanner, it has to be a WiFi unit.

iOS doesn’t support the bluetooth protocols used in these, you have to use the Wi-Fi ones.

I’ve never heard of a Bluetooth OBDII reader for iOS, all the ones I’ve seen are wifi so far

I found this out the hard way as well. On the bright side, I did find a $25 adapter with a long cable that doesn’t stick out under the dash like the self contained units, and had served me well for four years now. The cable is routed into the center console and had incredible range.
