When left to my own devices, I often do some dumb-shittery. What follows is exactly that.
It’s a 2018 Equinox LT. I got $7,200 off of sticker (!) and I love it. I will miss the Camaro Turbo 4 but it was high time I had something more comfortable and more usable. The Cruze hatch was a close second but this was actually CHEAPER! Due to current incentives. Make that make sense in your head. It has niceties like dual zone climate control, a first for me. Heated seats, side blind zone alert (just neat, OK?) As well as a host of other shit you don’t care about it. It is Pepperdust Metallic and I love it. Flame suit on.

Heck yeah! Me too! It was a crazy good deal and I was so shocked at all the discounts. I literally bought it cheaper than a comparable Cruze or Trax.

I genuinely like it! And I’m impressed with how smooth, quiet and compliant it is. It’s no sports car but it doesn’t wallow at all in the corners. Of course, I don’t push it hard at all. It’s not meant to. But it won’t hate back roads or mountain roads.

Haha. I was hoping someone would ask this. I bought the Camaro for a hair over 22K last year. I bought this for 21500. I drove the Camaro for a little less than a year and got 18,000 for it on trade (not bad especially because I punished the tires. They were fine said my manager. Held up better than expected.) It cost me a little over 4K to drive it for a year, excepting fuel and insurance. Which both went up when I bought the Camaro. Significantly.
I bought this car for $7,200 off with dealer employee discount and 5K in rebates. All in, I financed less this time than I did last year by about a grand. My payment went down. My term went down. My gas expense will go down (regular vs. premium) and my insurance dropped by a little less than 200 per year. So, other than keeping my self in debt for several more years, I don’t think it was a bad shake. If this makes any sense. I’m not terribly awake yet.

I agree! I looked at the “Sandy Ridge Metallic” as well. It has quite a presence for what amounts to beige. But it’s hella high metallic flake beige. The Pepperdust looks striking when in the sun. Kind of greenish silver. I love it!
I agree, people seem to really dig them. I never thought I’d SUV again, however, this one is the most car-like that I’ve driven and I like that. I don’t have any interest in sitting up high though so I move the seat down low as it goes. Haha.

You aren’t lying! I’d kill to have the Terrain ONLY because the front passenger seat (purportedly) folds flat as well. However, that push button tranny kills it for me. Also, the Equinox has an old but heavily revised 6 speed that is so silky smooth you hardly know it’s there!

I’ll admit the 1.5T needs a bit more top end power to not feel lethargic. However, the seats are a delight (to me) and it handles competently for what it is. The old Equinox was terrifyingly loud and unrefined toward the end of its life. I just drove this one to the mountains and back yesterday. That’s 3 hours in each direction. Highly recommend.
