Did you know that a Wiimote communicates with Bluetooth, and you can totally connect it to a computer and use it as an input device?

Same thing with Dual Shock 3/4/Wii U controllers. I use them to play games on Emulators while my laptop is connected to my TV.

Additional fun fact an US Army Bradley unit hooked one up to the windows pc interface on their main cannon and filmed themselves using it in combat situations to acquire and eliminate targets.
When they were reprimanded and forced to cease using it they were then provided Xbox 360 controllers to continue the work they were already doing.

Actually yes. I did know this. I think at one point I was trying to use it to play games on my laptop. Yeah that didn’t work the best.

I was using a PS2 controller for quite a while on my PC until I got the Steam Controller.
I wonder if an xbox one controller works easily like this? My main gaming PC has bluetooth.

It works really well it just takes getting used to. For aiming in like FPS games the touch pad is really accurate and better. It also works well in games that typically would be hard to control with a controller like isometric RPGs and strategy games where you normally would like a mouse.
I still prefer the mouse for FPS but it’s nice to sit on my couch and play Stellaris or Pillars of Eternity without any issues at all.
I’ve been using Steam Link as well and that also works really well.
One of the nice things is all the community controller profiles for non-controller games.

Even more fun, they have a great IR camera imbedded in them.
You can use that camera to make some cheap smartboards inputs, or use for head tracking, or large scale touchscreens, or whatever you can dream up.

Yeah, I was doing that around 2010 with the Wii Guitar Hero controller so I could play GH 3 on PC with custom songs.
