And it’s not the Subaru!

I think the Tacoma has a leaking headgasket. I’ve read the 2005 and early 2006 had a weaker design. Toyota changed part numbers mid-2006.

Symptoms;
During Highway driving the coolant overflow fills up and spills over. Sitting in the driveway after getting home the overflow bottle is ‘bubbling’ with air bubbles coming out of the line from the rad. Engine temps stay normal (~90c on the scangauge) otherwise truck runs fine - no codes - no issues. I’ve replaced the rad cap hoping it was the problem but it didn’t help.

Once the engine cools down the coolant goes back into the system and the overflow tank goes back to normal levels. Around town driving is fine, no misfire or anything.

Shouldn’t be too bad of a job, right? Plus, you can do all that other “while you’re in there” stuff. How many kms are on it now?

Nothing.. no smoke.

I did the old start w/o rad cap trick and there are no bubbles at the cap, and no spray at start up.

Next step is a block tester.. but I’ve heard those results aren’t always reliable either.

Try this, it’s sealed my intake manifold. You have nothing to lose.

You’ve got everything to lose with this. These products often plug up things they shouldn’t, valves, passages, heater cores. No quick engine fix comes in a bottle- just fix the part properly.

Yeah, I’ve got a EJ25 running great since 2008, and drove a wasserboxxer for 10 years before that.. I’ve had more than my share of headgasket luck.. I didn’t expect it would be the Toyota though..

All I can say is it worked for me, it worked for my brother’s 535 and both of our heaters work fine. By the way, GM sells it too.
