A sheltie to be precise. Her name is Wing Gundam; Wing for short. Ten internet points if you know the reference. She’s a year and four months old.

The kicker is our other pets. Below you will see Zeta Gundam, who we just call Zeta. She’s five years old. She is coming along to be the alpha dog, despite being shorter and fluffier than Wing. And she’s louder too.

We also have a cat, Gryps. She was named after the mining asteroid in Z Gundam. She’s six years old.

Yeah, we name our pets after Gundam related stuff. It’s like a reoccurring joke. And it’s amusing when MrsZtp gets upset with Zeta and yells “Zeta Gundam!”

Also, Zeta is being annoyingly hilarious. Wing got ‘too close’ to Zeta’s carrot, to which Zeta went ballistic. Zeta lost interest in the carrot a while ago and it was just sitting on the ground, collecting dust. Heaven forbid if another dog approaches her precious carrot that she wasn’t using!

Short tailed dogs are best dogs. My pup is a 2 year old aussie that is patiently awaiting the arrival of a sibling in January.

These are the first two dogs I’ve ever owned, so it’s an experience, lol.

Short tails? Shelters aren’t supposed to be docked! They don’t carry their tails out straight, so it often seems like they don’t have a tail.

Looks just like the sable I had when I was little. I miss that dog, but I don’t miss the yapping.

Zeta is a yapper. Wing on the only hand, doesn’t make a sound. Then again, she’s still adjusting to us.

Just say no to yapping dogs.

We have two dogs. One is silent except when stepped on. The other woofs any time she feels the house is being threatened. Thankfully, that isn’t often. The only time it’s really a problem is when a thunderstorm rolls through. She hates thunder and is determined to let us know.

Shelties are great. Scottish dogs FTW

Interesting, I didn’t know that. From the top picture it looked like my aussie (about half of which are born with just a nub like mine). I assumed it was similar since a lot of herding breeds are either docked or have evolved to have short tails.

In general, I’m against the docking unless for safety of their work and definitely against ear cropping.

We had a purebred Weimaraner growing up because my family was friends with the breeder. Anyway purebreds seem to get interesting names and hers was no different. The full name on her papers was Ghost Walker’s Winds of Change. We called her Windy for short.

Both our dogs are purebreds, we got them both from the breeder. We got Zeta while living in Florida, whose original name was Ebony. She was about 6 months old when we got her; she was so tiny! And Wing was just called ‘girl’. We got Wing from my great aunt, who used to breed shelties.
