Do they actually work? Are Oppos running them on their cars? Does using them on a DI/turbo car have a different effect than a carb’d car? Tell me all the things.

Spacers do have an effect on carbureted engines as it changes the size of the intake plenum, but I think they’re used more for fine tuning than as a power adder. The hood on my Camaro is too low for such things so I have no personal experience, though.

What do you think you want it to do? I don’t think there is any reason for them anymore. You want the MAF sensor in the least turbulent area possible for best accuracy. Other than that, it’s just a matter of routing air to the intake manifold, the intake manifold will do the rest.

Yup. Same benefit for TBIs when it comes to being an extension for air and fuel to have more time to mix before reaching the cylinder.
Beyond that, no performance benefit. Could be handy for clearing tall aftermarket valve covers, though. Or any other application where a little extra clearance is needed to make things fit.

I doubt you’d see any appreciable difference on a DI/Turbo car. On a carbed or TBI car they increase plenum volume which can help balance the charge between cylinders and give the fuel more space to atomize.

Its simply a spacer. Works best on carb’d motors. A long skinny intake is great for low-end torque. At the high end, you want a short and fat intake. This effectively can increase torque, but lower top end performance. Keep in mind, this only offers slight changes. Nothing drastic here.
