They should have probably done a few more than 20. Especially if only a few places will have it. Especially if amongst the few that have it, even fewer will *actually* have it.
They handled this really poorly. Should have just been a one-day limited run, or maybe a timed event. People would have still been upset ofc, but at least less people would be upset.
There’s also a pretty good chance this exactly the response they wanted, since now normal people can make fun of the R&M fans who are way angry over something so unimportant. They basically got a bunch of really cheap advertising.

The real problem is that Rick and Morty fans are the WORST. A bunch of idiot 14 year olds screaming SZECHUAN SAUCE and IM PICKLE RICK in place of having an actual personality. I love the show, but it’s somehow bred the biggest group of assholes on the planet.

I work for the NBC affiliate in San Diego, and we reported that things were relatively calm at a local McDonalds that was “lucky” to have the sauce. I mean, yeah a bunch of goofs showed up shouting “GIMMIE THAT SAUCE!” and “PICKLE RICK!”, but to my knowledge they weren’t being dickheads when the store ran out.

Normal people would just see the clusterfuck and avoid this all together, like they regularly avoid McDonalds. But it has the opposite effect on these people, who feel the need to go batshit for what I’m guessing is total spoonfuls worth of soy + hoisin + garlic powder.
