Kinja'd!!!

Day one at the track was awesome. I definitely improved throughout the day and had a chance to play on the skid pad as well. Tomorrow may bring rain but we’re still going out.

Have fun tomorrow! I’m hoping the rain holds off myself, I’m autoxing on Hoosiers for the first time tomorrow! Can’t wait...

Oh man, you picked an interesting time of the season to try those out! Even without rain, I bet it won’t be all that hot out. I’ve spent two seasons on slicks for autocross and the cooler days are downright scary haha. But if you’ve got the A7 then you should be alright, those things are crazy. And have the price to show for it!

Ha yeah we’ll see, should be 80° tomorrow in CT. They are take off a7s. I paid $300 shipped for 2017 manufacture date tires with 70-80% tread depth. They are replacing my over heat cycled Re71rs. I ran through those in 2 months doing 4 track days and 5 autocross.... These are comparatively a bargain! I have two events left in two weeks.

My club does do hot tire lapping so I should be able to get them hot. Get in line one, do your run get in line two, go with warmer tires...it’s great for people with tires that heat up!

Edit:darn looks like a bit more rain lol and 76° high now...

Yeah it was a bit rainy on Sunday up there, I was in the Hartford area and drove through the state on my way home to NJ, saw rain the whole time. Id have to imagine that might have been an interesting experience. At least it was pretty warm, especially for October!

And yeah I love how much cheaper slicks are really. $300 shipped would not get you a very good set of RE71Rs lol. And its not like I would want to even street drive with those anyways just because of treadware. So I would need to have separate wheels anyways. Might as well have better tires that last longer and cost less!
