Kinja'd!!!

On an early-model Lexus ES. It’s this funky split-3-spoke design. It’s pretty restrained but also unique. Mundane. Almost perfect for my MR2. But they’re too narrow and expensive. Post similar wheels...

I want:

3 spokes (or split 3-spokes)

5x114.3 bolt pattern

15" to 18" diameter

I don’t know, maybe these Lexus wheels are the only ones that match the criteria. Prove me wrong and make my day!

I hate almost every three spoke wheel, the only exceptions are SAAB wheels.

I always liked the TRX split 3 spoke wheels, and they’re now available in the aftermarket in non-oddball metric sizes!

But those are 4 bolt only.

Later Mustangs had the 5x114.3 (same as 5x4.5in) bolt pattern. There were a few few “split 3 spoke” designs in the SN95 body style

Considering they weren’t very popular, you might be able to find a set for cheap... if you can find a set.

Check junkyards for them. They’re just old enough that they should be showing up there.

That looks like a 3rd gen ES wheel. I had a 2nd gen for a while and it had a more rounded version of that:

Which reminds me I have a draft post of the wheels from every car I’ve owned somewhere that I should post.

Kinja'd!!!

The first gen Rav4 had a 16x6.5 inch split 3-spoke wheel with the right lug pattern. Or if you’re feeling really crazy, you could get these:

Both generations of the Ford Probe had three spoke wheels with the right bolt pattern.

Those tri-bars you can get in an aftermarket reproduction too. 17in diameter, your choice of 8 or 9 inch wide, your choice of black or silver, your choice of plain or Mustang center caps.

Maybe make sure a Mustang wheel will actually fit your MR2 first, but looks like others have made it work. (I bet you could find several options for Mustang wheels on craigslist if you’re looking for a deal.)

I got style 53 wheels for my ‘69 Sprite. Had them repaired and then powdercoated in anthracite. I can’t wait to put them on. Way better than the og hubcaps and I have mini maglites

That directional one looks amazing, looked on eBay and it’s like $2700 for a set...

So ‘90s it hurts... Could probably look good and period correct on the MR2 though.

Yeah, Hirsch rims are obscenely expensive. Look great, but damn, that is a lot for a refurb rim
